Four distinguished journalists will be inducted in the Atlanta Press Club Hall of Fame on Thursday, November 7, during a ceremony at the InterContinental Buckhead Hotel. The Hall of Fame dinner is Atlanta media’s biggest night of the year and recognizes journalists who have made a significant impact on journalism in Georgia and around the country.
2019 Inductees
Jim Cantore, The Weather Channel meteorologist has been one of the nation’s most recognized and renowned reporters and forecasters for more than 30 years and counting. Jim will be introduced by his co-anchor, Stephanie Abrams.
Lino Dominguez, a founder of Mundo Hispanico, which has become the nation’s top independently-owned Spanish language digital media company. Lino will be introduced by Anibal Torres, executive director of the Latin American Association.
Jocelyn Dorsey, WSB-TV retired news anchor and public affairs director was Atlanta’s first African-American anchor. Jocelyn will be introduced by former general manager of WSB-TV, Tim McVay.
Lewis Grizzard, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution columnist known for his insightful and humorous observations of the changing South. Grizzard died in 1994 at the age of 47. Lewis will be introduced by Glenn McCutchen, former managing editor of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Shiba Russell, 11Alive anchor, will emcee the event.
