Georgia Speaker of the House Jon Burns will speak to the Atlanta Press Club at a Newsmaker luncheon on Thursday, March 9th at the Loudermilk Conference Center. Elected this January, Republican Jon Burns is Georgia’s 75th Speaker of the House of Representatives following the late Speaker David Ralston. As a legislator, Speaker Burns has worked to bring sound environmentally balanced economic development, world class healthcare, quality education, and improved transportation to Georgia. Speaker Burns served as House Majority Leader from 2015 until his nomination as Speaker. He previously served as Chairman of the House Game, Fish & Parks Committee and as Chairman of the House Special Rules Committee. During the program, Burns will give updates on the current legislative session, and his first year as Speaker and take questions from the audience. See you there!
